About Cognitive Hypnotherapy

Cognitive Hypnotherapy draws upon several disciplines including NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming), Positive Psychology, Gestalt Therapy and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) as well as cutting-edge neuroscience. The field is continually evolving and research is being carried out to increase the extensive evidence base.

My 5 Step Programme

Step 1

1 The Discovery Phase

From the initial contact I work with you to discover where you are in your life, and what you would like help with. We find out about which parts are no longer working and what you want instead. We discuss your history and anything you have worked with before which has worked, or hasn't worked.

We talk about what you are finding difficult and where you need my support. We cover everything thoroughly so that I have a very good understanding of your needs. This work starts in our discovery call and continues in the first session or sessions.

Step 2

3. uncover update beliefs

In the second step we work on your beliefs about yourself, about different areas of your life and the area where the problem is. We uncover any unconscious blocks which have prevented you from getting what you want so far.

As some of these blocks are unconscious - beneath your conscious awareness, you may be suprised at what has been holding you back. This step is critical and is at the heart of what I do, to help you live a more fulfilled life.

Step 3

2. create vision

In this phase we work on developing what you really want, in the area where the problem is, and in all other areas of your life.

We work on your attitudes and feelings and your relationship to yourself and others. We work on your desires for other parts of your life too, as you are a whole person, and your personal journey will have consequences which spread across your life.

Here I create a hypnosis download or downloads to support you in your journey on your bright exciting future. The recording(s) support your unconscious mind in allowing you to make the changes needed to get you where you want to be.

Step 4

4. build strengths

This phase crosses over the other steps as we uncover your inner strengths and consider where you have had successes before in life.

We also build new strengths you may not have realised you have. I believe each person has everything they need in side them;  your inner resources. You just need a good guide to help you tease these strengths and resources out.

Step 5

5. evaluate review

Although we evaluate your progress at each step, we spend more time in the final stages, so that you and your unconscious mind can really grasp the fact that you're changing now, or have made the changes you desperately wanted to make.

We build in processes to help you  continue living with those good habits. I ask each of my clients to pledge what more they need to do at this stage in order to maintain the changes they have made. At this stage we can arrange catch-up calls or sessions in the coming weeks or months to have a final evaluation.

I use these 5 steps in all of my packages, whether we work together for 4 sessions, 6 sessions, or in my 3 month or 6 month packages.
