Is Online Hypnotherapy Effective?

Yes, online hypnotherapy is an extremely effective way of working with a hypnotherapist like me, to get past the obstacles in your way. Working on Zoom creates a connection quickly, as we can make eye contact and see each other’s expressions clearly.

I have written this article to help answer some of the most commonly asked questions about having talking therapy online. Over the recent past, it has become more common for many of us to work with service providers online. Meetings via Zoom have provided the opportunity for us to benefit from services like hypnotherapy. Issues have risen to the surface during the lockdowns and some problem have worsened. So I am so grateful that I could continue to work with my clients over the internet. Online hypnotherapy has provided a lifeline for so many people, and that is brilliant!

Is Online Hypnotherapy as Effective as Face to Face Hypnotherapy?

Again, yes. Most people find that online hypnotherapy sessions are comfortable and effective. Connecting to your therapist from the comfort and privacy of your own home is a bonus for many people, as they don’t have to travel and can easily fit a session into their day. Having sessions online means that distance is not a barrier. Working online is also helpful for those who need childcare, or who might have mobility issues. Over the pandemic, online hypnotherapy has proved to be very effective, as all of my clients have been happy with their results.

How Does Online Hypnotherapy Work?

Online hypnotherapy is no different to working face to face. Sessions are agreed at a mutually convenient time, and we both commit to meeting online at that time. Clear instructions on how to download Zoom and click the private meeting link are given. We talk about the previous week and anything that has come up and then we dive into the session. There may be some hypnosis during the session, when you simply close your eyes and relax. Any recordings I have made for you are sent to you after the session for you to listen to. I explain any tasks I would like you to complete for your homework. Just like in face to face sessions, we work together in a partnership to get you to your desired outcome.

How Do I Know if I Will Like Online Hypnotherapy?

Our initial discovery call conversation will be via Zoom so that you can test it out. This can help you feel more comfortable working online in this way. Most of my clients report that they felt comfortable after a few minutes, and many actually preferred meeting online. The convenience and accessibility has won many of my clients over and it has been the way I have worked for the past year.

How Can I Have Hypnotherapy Online?

In order to have hypnotherapy online, you will need a device like a computer or an iPad and a stable and reliable internet connection. It is important that we can see and hear each other clearly for the sessions to be effective, so your device needs a working camera. You will need a comfortable, private space where you will not be disturbed for the session. Headphones or earphones are also needed, as I will create recordings for you to listen to. This helps to create a more immersive experience. You also need time and space put aside in your diary, so that you can make the most of your sessions and leave feeling calm and relaxed afterwards.
