Family Therapy and Children

Talking Therapy for Children
As an experienced hypnotherapist and primary school teacher, I have worked extensively with children and their families. One of my main aims in therapy is to help the client find their innate gifts and to build confidence and resilience and this is equally important with children. Talking therapy for children is a great way to give them space to explore their problem with a professional.
All sessions start by creating rapport and a relationship to help the child and parent feel at ease.

I work with children therapeutically to help them build their resilience and mental well-being and teach strategies to be able to solve their own problems.

I use child-friendly language to help children cope with everyday stresses of life. We work together in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere to help children address the feelings which arise and teach simple and effective strategies to change the way they feel about things.

If possible, I aim to see all of my child clients in person, even if I work with their parent online.

Active Listening with Children

As a Quest Cognitive Hypnotherapist , I listen closely to the child's words to understand what they are experiencing so I can help them transform or let go of the fears and worries that are troubling them.

Once we have established rapport and a working relationship, we can start the process of talking therapy. I listen closely to the child's words to understand what they are experiencing.

Once I have understood what the issues are, I help the child to build a picture of how things would be if they were better. We work together each session, learning techniques and new ways of thinking. This vision is embedded into the hypnosis part of the session. I send the recordings to the parent so that the child can listen to them each evening.

Creativity and Play

I use creativity to help children recognise what is going well and what is not going well for them. We work together in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere and I teach simple and effective strategies that the child can use independently.

Some children might benefit from a more hands-on approach, like Play Therapy. If this is the case, I will let you know. You can find out more about play therapy here.

Why Choose Talking Therapy for Your Family?

As part of family therapy, I offer sessions to siblings and one or more parents of the child involved. Working with different members of the family can often be the pivotal step that makes all the difference. I am able to help bridge the gap between the child and parent, and I can help you implement any changes that need to take place.

The children I work with appreciate having an independent adult to talk to. Through our sessions, they are able to identify the reasons why they have these feelings and identify solutions.

What Clients are Saying

Working with Zeenat has really helped both me and my daughter through a difficult time. She is very professional and has a deep understanding of family dynamics, but is also kind and warm in her approach which made us feel totally comfortable sharing our feelings and worries. I would have no hesitation in recommending Zeenat, and I’m so grateful we benefited from her wisdom.
