Hypnotherapy and Weight Loss
Weight Loss is a hot topic.
A 2025 report for The House of Commons showed that approximately 1 in 4 adults is classed as obese or as living with obesity in the UK.
That means we all know someone who wants to or is trying to lose weight. We also know that it can be really difficult for a number of people to do that successfully and sustainably.
The combination of healthy eating, tailored exercise and a resilient mindset are key for success. Often one or more of those and missing.
I offer one to one support for my clients who are trying to reach their ideal weight. They may have tried to lose weight many times before, with some success. As we get older, we lose muscle and can start to notice changes to our health. Staying or becoming a healthy weight supports all aspects of health, vitality and wellness.
Hypnotherapy is a talking-therapy which supports people by using persuasive language and speaking directly to the unconscious mind.
Hypnotherapy has no side-effects and is very successful in supporting clients with weight loss. I create a tailored programme of support for my clients, depending on what they need help with.
Insulin resistance and type-2 diabetes are becoming more common as more of us put on weight. These conditions create so many other knock-on effects. The good news is, that they can go into remission, if you lose enough weight.

Mindset, Nutrition & Exercise
The first step to losing weight is to look at your nutrition and exercise routine.
What are you eating on a daily and weekly basis in terms of quality, quantity and range?
How much energy are you expending through exercise?
Most of my clients are not lacking in knowledge about what to eat or how to exercise to lose weight.
They come to me because even though they have the information they need, they struggle with willpower.
Many people struggle to lose weight because they find it hard to switch off the food noise.
They are bombarded with food marketing and this can increase the the temptation to:
- eat convenience foods
- eat on the go
- fill up on ultra-processed foods
- eat snacks even when they are not hungry
- eat when they are actually thirsty
- eat larger portions than they need
- eat out of habit, stress or boredom
- eat to feel better and to drown out other feelings
- snack late at night before bed
- feel they need to finish everything on their plate, even when full
- eat in anticipation of being hungry later, even if they aren't hungry now
- eat a small range of foods, missing out on nutrients
- and more...
Weight Loss Jabs
Weight loss medication in the form of tablets or injections are now widely available. This has provided a lifeline for many people who have successfully shed many kilos. This sort of weight loss can be life-changing. However, like any medications, they come with a list of potential side-effects. Results can be varied depending on a number of factors.
I support clients to lose weight safely whilst using weight loss drugs such as GLP-1s (Mounjaro, Ozempic, Wegovy for example).

In order to lose weight successfully with weight loss jabs, I work on:
- education - understanding your goals, where you might slip up
- preparation - getting your body and mind ready for taking the medication

- exercise - creating healthy habits to maintain muscle and prevent muscle-loss, repeatable, enjoyable new habits which you love to do
